A wise man named Solomon said, "...be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:12-14).

There is only one book that contains no mixture of error and if you're not reading it daily then stop reading this right now. Read your Bible. It is the lens by which you must bring everything under the sun into view.

Spiritual growth is God's doing. Psalm 19:7 tells us that "His testimony is sure, making wise the simple." So, once again, whatever you do, read more BIBLE than books. As a wise and humble friend of mine says, "no Bible, no breakfast." Time of day isn't really the issue but the desire of the heart is. 1 Peter 2:2 says to "long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation." Don't stop there! Press on toward maturity in Christ. Hebrews 5:12 is a warning to those who don't read their Bibles..."For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food." In John 8:31-32, Jesus says, "if you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” Want to hear from God?
